Your privacy in Laglingo
This policy explains how Laglingo handles information when you use the mobile app.
Effective date: June 11, 2026
Overview
Laglingo does not require an account and does not ask you to provide your name, mailing address, or phone number. The app uses device features and third-party services to provide speech practice, translations, analytics, crash reporting, and advertising.
Information handled by the app
Microphone and speech recognition
When you tap Practice, Laglingo requests microphone and speech-recognition access so it can compare your spoken phrase with the target phrase. Audio and speech-recognition data may be processed by Apple, Google, or your device's configured speech-recognition service under that provider's privacy terms. Laglingo does not intentionally store recordings of your voice.
Custom words and translation requests
When you use the Add feature, the text you enter may be sent over the internet to a third-party translation service to produce a translation. Do not enter sensitive or confidential information. Custom words, language choices, favourites, and app settings are stored locally on your device.
Analytics and diagnostics
Laglingo uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These services may process information such as app interactions, screen views, device and app identifiers, device details, approximate location derived from an IP address, crash logs, and diagnostics. This information helps us understand app usage, diagnose failures, and improve reliability.
Advertising
Laglingo uses Google Mobile Ads to display non-personalized banner and interstitial advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, IP address, ad interactions, diagnostics, and other information needed to deliver, measure, prevent fraud in, and improve ads.
How information is used
- Provide phrase translation, pronunciation, and speech practice.
- Remember your language choices, favourites, and custom words.
- Measure app usage and improve features.
- Identify crashes, errors, abuse, and technical problems.
- Display and measure non-personalized advertisements.
Third-party services
Laglingo uses services operated by third parties, including:
- Google Privacy Policy for Firebase, Google Mobile Ads, and Android speech services.
- Firebase Privacy and Security
- How Google uses information from apps that use its services
- Apple Privacy Policy for iOS speech recognition and related device services.
Third-party services handle information according to their own privacy policies and may process information in countries other than your own.
Data retention and deletion
Locally stored favourites, custom words, language choices, and settings remain on your device until you remove them, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Information processed by third-party services is retained according to each provider's policies.
Children's privacy
Laglingo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review the issue.
Your choices
You can deny or revoke microphone and speech-recognition permissions in your device settings. You can remove locally stored app information by deleting relevant content, clearing app data where supported, or uninstalling Laglingo.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as Laglingo changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are published.
